The text that is read over the video is a series of letters to a fugitive to whom the artist is distantly but personally connected through her mother. The letters, which are part of a book-length manuscript, aim to blur the line between fantasy and reality, explore and unravel complex intimacies and lineages, and chart the emotional terrain of living in a racialized body.
